Beyond Economic Constraints,
Exhibition at Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof
Beyond Economic Constraints at Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof is dedicated to four collective visions: a garage, a concrete sculpture, an apartment and an umiak. Three texts were published in a booklet as part of the exhibition. The texts by Johannes Koch, Katja Lell and Steffen Danek reflect on the potentials and problems they encountered while being part of these sociocultural projects.
During the exhibition the Kunstverein functioned as a reading room and simultaneously as a construction site for a group of architects: Niklas Fanelsa, Marius Helten, Leonard Wertgen, Freya Winkelmann, Anna Wulf. The group reunited for the first time since abandoning the construction site of the collectively build and planed garage two years ealier. They aimed at building the last missing element during the exhibition – a garage door.
The artist and musician Fion Pellacini performed a music set during the finissage of the exhibition alluding to the utopian potential of these four projects.
